The growing two wheeler sector in the Indian auto industry has now wooed the country"s auto giant, Tata Motors which is coming out with its Tata Motors Full Throttle. The venture into the Motorsport is nothing new for the company which has already fixed the deputation of its two giant killers, Tata Safaris and two numbers of Xenon XT cars. Tata Motors Full Throttle vehicles will sprint into the Desert Storm Rally slated for the next week in Ahmedabad. This will be followed by the team Tata Motors into Raid De Himalayas by which the regularity will be focused on motorsporting.

The company"s VP for Commercial Passenger Car Business Unit said Tata Motors is keen on exploiting the advancement of technology in its product range by involving in such spirited activities. Tata Motors Full Throttle will mark a new beginning in promoting the product platforms with synergy and coordination. The event will include testing and developing the technology, he added. He said those who participate in the racing are fully qualified and well experienced in racing who will prove their might in one race followed by others. In a way, this is Tata Motors" revival of its participation in motorsport, which has been in exile since 2007.

The last time that the company involved in such events were non-competitive ones such as London Capetown Rally in 1998, ASEAN rally in 2005, SAARC rally in 2007 by pressing its Safari into the service. Its vehicles, Safari and Xenon are of 4 x 4 lifestyle pickup which have vast experience in independent events. The company"s Head for Utility Vehicles said the participation will mark the display of premium cars and at the same time the company"s involvement in motorsports events.

Tata Motors"s announcement comes after last week"s gesture of JK tyres into the JL Racing Asia Series to be monitored by Motorsport Asia. Tata Motors Full Throttle is to carry the Indian motorsport to the elevated stage. These races are scheduled for April in Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and India. For this 2011 season there will be 18races during the weekends with Formula One Grand Prix back up for three of them in Malaysia.
