A Proud Moment For Tata Motors

The Indian auto giant Tata Motors has achieved a distinction to become the first Indian maker to produce 1 lakh commercial vehicles in a financial year. The Tata Motors" President for Commercial vehicle business unit said it had been a proud moment. He further said the interest rate may decide the further number of vehicles in commercial sector and suggested that the rate shall be controlled so as to not affect the growth of the sector. The rate of growth in this sector has been 20-22% in this fiscal which is expected to turn around 10-15% in the coming FY. Tata Motors has seen a good stint in the World Truck division too with significant sale volume in recent months.

Tata Motors commenced the production under World Truck during the Q1 of this FY and has so far received good volumes. The reasons cited are the demand for the vehicles due to the improved road conditions all over the country. He said as of now there are two models of truck under production and there will be two more in coming days making the total to 6-8 models within the end of the next fiscal. To meet such situations tata motors would take steps to increase the volume to 55000 annual units in the next five years.
