Tata Has High Hopes From Aria 4X2

Indian auto major Tata Motors which recently launched the two-wheel drive version of the Aria SUV is expecting to sell more of the new low priced variant. The carmaker is expecting there is a greater demand for an SUV within the price range of Rs.11-16 lakhs and the Aria is the best possible option.

Tata Motors Commercial Passenger car business Vice-President R Ramakrishnan while speaking to reporters during the launch of the Aria 4x2 crossover in Tamil Nadu said: “We are expecting to sell more number of units in the coming months... It is for those who look for city driving in complete luxury."

The Tata Aria is Tata Motors' first crossover and has been built on a brand new platform. The four wheel drive version did not set the market on fire despite it being loaded with several luxury features. Tata has so far sold 2,000 units of the Aria that was developed following an investment of Rs.1,000 crores.

Mr Ramakrishnan said the Aria 4x2 was available in three variants - Prestige, Pleasure and Pure. He added: “The Pure model in 4x2 version is new entry in this variant. The top version in Aria 4x4 is Prestige. Compared to both these cars, 16 features will be more in Prestige than the Pure variant.".
