Swift Buyers Can Update To New Model

Maruti Suzuki will soon launch the new Swift hatchback in both petrol and diesel versions. The Swift diesel currently has awaiting period of more than three months and customers who have booked for it a month ago will be able to get their car after the new Swift has been launched. If these customers are interested in buying the Swift, Maruti Suzuki has provided them with the choice of opting for the new version before delivery of their car.

Maruti Suzuki has asked its dealers to give customers with existing bookings of the Swift a choice of switching to the new Swift. Maruti has already stopped production of current Swift and the new Swift is already on the production lines.

The new Swift has several improvements to boast of. It gets a new 1.2-litre VVT engine that delivers more power and yet is more fuel efficient and has less emissions that the current model. Moreover, the new model will also be lighter due to the use of weight saving materials. The reduced weight will also help improve fuel economy by 10 to 15 per cent.

The new Swift is also more spacious that the current model. Maruti Suzuki has not made radical changes to the Swift's interior design. The new Swift is will cost slightly more than the current model when it is launched this August.

With bookings for the new model already open, Maruti Suzuki has to ensure it has sufficient stock of the new Swift before it launched the car in the market. Else the story of long waiting periods for the Swift and missed sales will continue.
