Renault To Expand Dealerships In India

Renault, the French carmaker has announced plans to expand its dealer network in India to 100 from the current 14 by the end of next year. Renault's dealers will be spread across 75 Indian cities. The French carmaker considers India to be one of its top three crucial markets.

Renault India Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Len Curran said: “We are looking seriously towards India, which is amongst the top three strategic markets for us. We shall have 40 dealers by end of this year and ramp it up to 100 by 2012 end, when our five models shall be on Indian roads."

Mr Curran also said the carmaker will be launching the Koleos SUV in October and will follow it with three new models. He added the firm would increase localization of its products by up to 60 per cent after it launches four new models in India. Renault recently launched the Fluence sedan in India and the car will be assembled at Renault-Nissan's manufacturing facility in Chennai. Renault's dealers will also be opened in tier II and tier III cities.
