5 New Models From Renault By 2012

Within the next year there will be five new models from Renault in the Indian market as the company is shelling Rs4500 crore for erecting the manufacturing plant near Chennai. The Renault plant is in the offing with the JV from Nissan and the target for the coming five years will be 70000 units. The MD of Renault said the company"s plan is to erect the manufacturing plant at this investment to yield the annual capacity of 4 lakhs every year. Of the five models slated for launch, the first will be Fluence by this year middle as the Indian market is one among the prospective market for the company along with Russia and Brazil he added. This will follow Koleos high end compact SUV in October.

In a bid to reach more customers easily there will be expansion of dealer network by 7-10 before the launch of Fluence. This will further be expanded to 70 in 2012 to reach 80%of the customer hold in the Indian market he said. With this expansion, he said further, Renault aims to secure 5% of the Indian market within this decade. Prior to that the company will be able to deliver 70000 units by 2014, said the Renault"s VP for communications and corporate affairs. The target customers will be average buyers comprising middle and upper middle class as there is no plan to enter into the higher end as of now, he stressed.
