JLR Begins Evoque Production In UK
The Range Rover Evoque was displayed at major car shows across the globe and the results are here to see. The Evoque impressed so many motorists that JLR has already received 18,000 bookings even before it started building the Evoque. Jaguar Land Rover Chief Executive Officer Ralf Speth while speaking about the Evoque's global success said: “The Evoque is an incredibly exciting vehicle that joins a product range which across both of our brands is the strongest we have ever had and it fits in perfectly."
JLR has already doubled its production staff in the UK to facilitate the production of the Evoque. More than 75 per cent of the Evoques will be exported to about 170 countries. The Evoque is one of the first products to be launched by JLR as part of its plans to launch 40 new models. Tata Motors has said it would make an annual investment of 1.5 billion pounds to facilitate new product and engine development.
The Range Rover Evoque is expected to be displayed at the India Auto Expo in Delhi. It wont be a surprise if JLR decides to bring the Evoque to India much before than that. The British car brands have openly said they consider India to be their second home and want to be market leaders. BMW, India's leading luxury car seller has also acknowledged that it would have to compete with JLR to retain its position.
