Two New Launches From Nissan In A Year Time

The year 2012 might see the launch of two new models by the Japanese car maker Nissan - a sedan and another version to counter Toyota Innova, said its MD and CEO. He added that the sedan will come off on the lines of Micra platform and will be launched first in China and for the Indian market it will be developed and delivered from its Chennai plant.

He ruled out any consequences on the manufacturing in the Indian plant as a result of the recent earthquake and tsunami in its homeland. He said there might be some effects in the European segment. He further mentioned that Nissan would export 1.1 lakh units of its Micra to Africa, West Asia and Europe. The export of Micra commenced in October last and as of now, Nissan has exported 55000 units to Africa, Middle East and Europe. He said another 1.1 lakh units of Nissan will be exported in this October.
