Mercedes Launches New SLK350 Convertible
The Slk is one of the iconic sports cars from Mercedes-Benz and is currently in its third generation. The German carmaker was previously selling the SLK200 in India, The SLK350 is powered by a 3.5-litre petrol V6 engine that will reportedly deliver a fuel economy of 8kmpl. Mercedes-Benz has said the SLK350 will be available in nine colours.
The new SLK 350 gets a new powerful engine that can churn out 272bhp and 258 Nm of torque. It offers a blistering performance and can accelerate to 100kmph within 5.6 seconds. Mercedes-Benz has limited the top speed of the SLK at 250kmph.
Debashis Mitra, Director (Sales and Marketing) of Mercedes-Benz India while speaking to reporters said: “Last year, we were selling 3-4 cars a month of SLK 200. We now hope to improve that number."

Mercedes-Benz which is trying to wrest back its position as India's best selling luxury carmaker is not perturbed by the recent hike in interest rates. Mr Mitra said: “he effect will be minimal as the current growth rate of 50-55 per cent is impressive."
