Mercedes Benz To Come Into Tier II And Tier III Cities Shortly
In India, the luxury car segment is among the fastest growing segments and global luxury makers like Mercedes Benz and BMW and Audi have observed astronomical numbers in terms of sales. Mercedes Benz India Limited managing director and CEO Peter T. Honegg, has said that the company is set to enter two and three tier cities soon and targets to sell close to 50 units per year in those markets.
Further it was said that though Mercedes Benz has not zeroed in yet on which newer markets it will explore, it will appear at on an average 7-10 tier II and III cities in a year for 3-5 years. Recently, the luxury car maker announced opening of its financial arm.
Honegg added that it is too early to come up on kind of an impact it will have on the sales number. However it is that doing things in-house is better than dealing with different companies. Even though it will be hard to compete with banks, through internal business Mercedes Benz can offer an array of service packages.
