McLaren Reaps Two Coveted Awards
Ford"s Jurgen Putzschler won the Dynamicist of the Year award for his contribution to the vehicle dynamics supervision for C-Car platform such as C-MAX and Focus. The Editor of Vehicle Dynamics International magazine said the selection process underwent in a tough scaling to adjudge the awards by the experts. He said MP4-12C would prove the recognition to the world and the team which crafted the car can feel proud for the effort. Reciprocating the recognition, the program director of McLaren Automotive said the award has become an important for the company for the elements put out in the car"s design and delivery.
McLaren has redefined the car with less weight, carbon utility on essential level and has infused the requisite elements of the car best suited for Formula 1 concept, he added. The winner of Dynamicist award felt grateful to the recognition meted out to C-Car platform from Ford under which there will be 12 models on MPV segment. The cars will portray and maintain high degree of commonality among them, he further said. For the other awards in different categories, Mercedes Benz and Moog got the recognition for the driving simulation which fetched the Development Tool of the year award.
The Innovation of the Year award was conferred to Continental which delivered the Electric hydraulic combined braking system. The Supplier of the Year was Tenneco whose contribution to McLaren grabbed the award. In the automotive world, Vehicle Dynamics is the authority among magazines covering the entire global information on automobiles. The magazine is an international publication which deals with latest in technology and R&D in the field of suspension and chassis mechanism.
