Maruti Suzuki Sales Rise In December By 17%

The Indian car giant Maruti Suzuki has accrued a rise in sale of 17% during December 2010 by selling 99,225 units. This corresponds to the sale volume achieved in December 2009- 84,804 units, said the company"s report. In all the sale volume includes 89,469 units in domestic market against 71,000 units done in the same month of the previous year.

This accounts for an rise in Maruti Suzuki sales of 26.01% despite a fall in the export market - 29.32% by dispatching 9,756 units against 13,804 units exported in December 2009. With the rise in the sale of Maruti Suzuki compact Alto, the sale of its once darling model Maruti 800 witnessed a fall by 30.15% with 1798 units against 2574 units promoted in the same month of 2009. The A2 segment posted a rise of 23.46% by selling 64492 units against 52236 units done in 2009. This segment consists of Estilo, Swift, A-Star, Alto, WagonR and Ritz. There has been rise in the sale of A3 segment too- SX4 andDzire- with the sale of 9632 units against 7843 units making a rise by 19.37%.

The overall rise in the Maruti Suzuki sale of cars is 20.75% with sale of 75,652units against 62,653 units in December 2009. For the first nine months of this FY, the sale figure stands at 9,27,665 units against 7,30,943 units making a rise by 26.91%.
