Maruti Suzuki Sales Rise In January

India"s top most car maker Maruti Suzuki is said to have posted an increased sale of 14.73% for the January 2011 by selling 109743 units against 95649 units sold in the corresponding month of 2010. Of these , the sale in domestic market was 100422 units making a rise by 23.84% by selling 81087 units from the one done in January 2010.

Yet the company could not prevent the fall in its export volume (by 35.99%) with 9321 units from the previous year"s 14562 units.

The major fall came from its breadwinner Maruti 800 facing a decline of 24.77% with 1876 units against 2494 units achieved in the same month of the last year. The combined sale volume of A2 segment - WagonR, Estilo, Alto and Swift has brought in rise by 23.81% with 72479 units against 58540 units in the said month. The rise in A3 segment - Dzire and SX4- too witnessed a rise by 32.6% with 11930 units against 8995 units of January 2010. The net volume for the first ten months of this fiscal made a record setting 10 lakh units - 10,37,408 units- which was 826592 units in January 2010 indicating a rise by 25.5%.
