Maruti K-Series Engine Production Hits One Million

Maruti Suzuki yesterday reported that the production of its K-Series engines had crossed the one million mark. The K-Series engine was first introduced by Maruti Suzuki in the A-Star in 2008. Later the same engine was also fitted to the Swift, Ritz, Alto K10 and Zen Estilo.

The cumulative production of the K-Series engine reaching the coveted one million mark is being celebrated by the carmaker. Maruti Suzuki India chief general manager (Marketing) Shashank Srivastava said: "We feel proud that customers have really appreciated our offerings mounted with the next generation K-series engine. As market leader, we have continuously improved the technologies over the years."

These K-Series engines are responsive and fuel efficient. The engine has been mostly used in the A-Star, Maruti Suzuki's export oriented model. In its statement Maruti Suzuki said it had fitted the K- Series engine in over 3.5 lakh units of A-Star, 1.9 lakh units of Wagon R, 1.36 lakh units of Alto K-10, 1.05 lakh units of Estilo, 1.24 lakh units of Swift and 95,000 units of Ritz.
