Maruti Suzuki Alto Is World's No.1

Maruti Suzuki"s small car Alto has won the laurel to be the world largest selling car in 2010 pushing the dominance of Volkswagen Gol, Fiat Uni and Volkswagen Golf. The car has thus got the distinction of the first Indian product to be the hot cake in the world car market. With this the sale volume of Maruti Suzuki Alto has hiked by 25% with 300000 units courtesy its K10 model which entered into the market during the second half of the year. It was the period when Volkswagen witnessed a fall in sale of its two versions by which Golf was given the third slot in the table.

The managing executive officer of Maruti Suzuki attributed the rise of Alto"s sale to the strategic version of K10 which made a deep impact. He expressed the hope that with the same vigor the company will be able to repeat the feat in a better manner in this year too. Since its launch in a decade ago, Maruti Suzuki Alto has been retaining its status as the largest selling car for the past four years. The company is pinning on the hope of delivering more units this year to reach the 400000 mark based on Maruti Suzuki Alto"s supremacy globally.
