Maruti Cancels Its 1 Cr Production Celebrations

The ongoing turmoil in the Japan has made the Indian car maker Maruti Suzuki to wait for the return of normalcy for deriving parts and components. Japan has been undergoing a devastating spell of natural disaster since last week as earthquake and tsunami erupted quite unexpectedly. In another move, Maruti has canceled the celebration of 1 crore production milestone in the domestic market. The Maruti"s CGM said there could be no instant paralysis in the production level of the company but assessing the prolonged impact of the natural disaster.

On normal conditions the company stocks components needed for two weeks production. He said as of now no official communication will be made from the company. The celebration of 1 crore unit, slated for 17th instant has been put off to mark the demise of lives in Japan. Maruti"s Chairman said there could not be any celebration as the event turned to be a big tragedy to the mankind. It is a relief to know that the employees placed in Suzuki plant at Hamamatsu are safe . actually Maruti was to have celebrated the 1 crore mark achieved in second time by installing two units in its Manesar facility.

In the camps of Honda too the situation is gloomy with the postponement of the preview of its small car Brio which was scheduled for March 17. Toyota which had planned to inaugurate its second manufacturing facility in India has postponed the event to mourn the disaster. Japan has been undergoing this natural turmoil ever since the earthquake at the rate of 8.9Richter scale occurred last week. The situation met with the worst hit as the tsunami spread the country"s prime locations leaving many washed away. The entire normal life of business and domestic faced the crippled movements and the country is yet to recover from the radiation from the nuclear plants. The fate of lives of thousands is not known and the current fear is the spread of hydrogen explosion in the Fukushima nuclear plant"s second reactor. The effect of the radiation has been at 500 micro sievert / hour in two locations. So far 1.80 lakh people were saved from the mishap surrounded at 20km radius of the plant. Earlier the government had recovered 3.5 lakh people.
