Maruti Suzuki Opens India's Highest Workshop

This workshop is at the highest level in terms of altitude. The terrain around it is something even an experience adventurer would be cautious to move around. The workshop has been opened next to the IOC petrol pump which has the distinction of being the highest petrol station in the country. Maruti's previous highest service centre is in Leh, Ladakh.
Pankaj Narula, executive officer (service), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) said: “It is a challenge operating a service station in such conditions but it will help cater to our growing number of customers in the region and also to the high tourist traffic."
Running the service centre at such altitude is a hard job considering the area will be cut off from the rest of the country for four months. Spare parts here will also cost slightly higher due to workshop's distance from the city. The showroom will definitely be of great help to local car users who had to travel long distances to get even the smallest faults rectified.
The service centre at Kaza will now cover surrounding areas such as Rangnik, Kibber, Hanse and Losar towards Keylong as well servicing around 700 vehicles.
Mayank Pareek, managing executive officer (marketing and sales), MSIL said: “Most people in this industry are fixated with opening new dealerships, but we at Maruti are equally aware of how important it is to provide service to the cars that are sold. A person can travel some distance to buy a car, which is at the most a three visit exercise, but how far he has to travel to get his car serviced thereafter, often forms the basis of his decision on which car to buy."
Maruti Suzuki has 2992 workshops across India in 1406 cities, arguably the widest in the country.
