Maruti Suzuki Amazed with Kizashi Bookings

The recent launch of Maruti"s Kizashi has some good cheers to share for the car lovers and the maker. The company has received 350 units of Kizashi in just 25 days of launch of this sports luxury sedan. On the new car bookings, the company"s sales executive officer said the bookings have made a deep impact by overtaking the company"s expectations. He however, could not assure at the time of the official launch last month. He just mentioned that the car could account just 2.8% in the net Indian passenger car segment.

Apart from sales and bookings, the technical specifications that this unit has are now made clear. The car is fitted with manual and CVT gearbox which is quite uncommon for a sports luxury sedan. The car is said to give a mileage of 10.9km/lit found to be ideal for a 2.4lit automatic version. Maruti has fixed the price of this car to Rs16.5 lakhs as initial price for the manual transmission and Rs17.5 lakh for the automatic version. Maruti has pitted Kizashi against Honda Accord, Nissan Teana, VW Passat, Skoda Superb and Toyota Camry. Maruti is importing this Kizashi as CBU and in near future there may be CKD or domestic manufacture depending upon the demand. It is learnt that Maruti may slash the price of this Kizashi to deem for the value for money concept. Incidentally Maruti has no good track record for products under premium range as evident from Grand Vitara and Baleno. Still the company is hopeful of capitalizing on the specifications of this Kizashi so as to penetrate the luxury segment.
