Mahindra & Ssangyong
The Indian company involved in aggressive market for utility vehicles, Mahindra and Mahindra has successfully acquired the Korean firm Ssangyong. Now the company is drawing its focus on developing the Korean brand in a bid to revive the affected brand image. Currently M&M has got the possession of 70% share in Ssangyong at 3 million. M&M is learnt to have realized the low profile of Ssangyong brands in its local market and the products under SUV have to be fueled sufficiently, said the new GM.

Ssangyong for itself will invest Rs960 crore during this calendar year to improve the product listing and brand building. The company has its target of 1.21 lakh units for this year which was 82000 in 2010. The GM said the company is depending much on the sale of Korando to boost the sale volume this year. The new administrative moves will see Ssangyong importing its Rexton and Korando C to the Indian market with the assembling to be carried out in Chakan facility.
