Mahindra Scorpio Roars In Sri Lanka

The Mahindra Scorpio is quickly getting an international fan following. The latest fan is none other than the Sri Lankan Government. To add muscle to its military and police division Sri Lanka has imported 137 Mahindra Scorpios. The Sri Lankan Police has also ordered for 485 Scorpios.

In a recent military ceremony, 137 Scorpios were handed over to the army. Speaking at the ceremony the president of Mahindra"s Automotive and Farm Equipment Sectors Mr Pawan Goenka said: “We are delighted that the Scorpio LX 4W is the SUV (Special Utility Vehicle) of choice for the Sri Lankan Police Force as well as for the Ministry of Defence (MoD). I am sure it will prove to be an asset to the police and the MoD in their day to day operations."

The Mahindra Scorpio which created a trend in the Indian SUV market is also a created a buzz in Sri Lanka. It has impressed everyone with its robustness and power. The Mahindra Scorpio is already serving many armies around the world.

The Sri Lankan Government has purchased the LX version of the Scorpio SUV. It will be powered by a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine paired with a five-speed manual gearbox.
