Mahindra's Gio Cabs For UP

Ever since its acquisition of Ssangyong from Korea, Mahindra & Mahindra is gearing up its plans to shift the volume level in the auto market. The specific increase in the Indian auto market has initiated many global companies to either expand or enter with full muscle power. The domestic players too are too intensive in penetrating the market by offering new ranges to their platforms. In this regard, Mahindra & Mahindra has come out with its compact Gio Cab in the state of UP (Uttar Pradesh) in a move to spread its affordable passenger vehicle for the urban and semi-urban areas.

Mahindra"s VP for automotive sales said UP has been identified as an important market after Patna which has the top most potential for Gio. The target customers for this Gio are those who own three wheeler and the vehicle has been classified as ideal for school and corporate sectors. This 0.5 tonne cargo truck will be available at the price tag of Rs1.95 lakhs and this Gio Cab is meant for safe drive, comfort and ergonomics, he added. Currently Gio cabs come in diesel version and soon there will be the electric version, he further remarked.
