Kota Maharaja's Tiger Rolls-Royce To Be Auctioned

It was time when Rolls-Royce customers could customise their car as per their requirements. The Maharaja of Kota, in Rajasthan ordered a Rolls-Royce Phantom I that he intended to use for his hunting trips. The red Phantom I with such a heritage is now being auctioned by Bonhams, the classic car auctioneer on August 17th.
The bright red convertible Phantom I has several slots for armaments, a double barrelled shot gun, a safe and several brass searchlights that can be used to focus light around the forest. The Maharaja of Kota used his Rolls-Royce for hunting tigers in his private lands and hence the car has been named as the tiger Rolls-Royce.
Bonhams has said the tiger Rolls-Royce could be auctioned for $750,000 to $1 million. The car was bought by a British national from the Maharaja of Kota in the 1970s and the car has travelled across the Atlantic and is currently owned by an American.
The auctineer has smartly added the flags of India and the UK to indicate the rich heritage of the tiger Rolls-Royce. Will this richly hand built car make its way back to India. It remains to be seen if some one form the long list of Indian billionaires evince an interest in bringing back a car that not only signifies the rich heritage of Indian royalty but also the keen automotive interest of the erstwhile maharajas.
