Hyundai posts 14% Increase In June Sales

India's second largest carmaker Hyundai Motors India Limited (HMIL) has reported its June sales figures. The Korea based carmaker sold 46,253 marking a healthy 14 per cent increase in sales. In its statement Hyundai Motors India has said its Domestic sales had increased 11.1 per cent to 30,402 units while exports grew 17.2 per cent to 22,129 units.

Arvind Saxena, HMIL's director (marketing and sales) said: "The market continued to be slow but Hyundai sales have grown partially due to the success of New Verna. We have received over 21,000 customer bookings for the New Verna so far and we are trying to fulfill the demand".

Hyundai's models in the A2 sector, the Santro, i10 and i20 accounted for the carmaker's 45,260 sales in June. The Accent and the Verna which are classified in the A3 segment contributed 7,147 sales.

Hyunda also sold 100 units of the Santa Fe SUV and 24 units of the Sonata Transform.
