Hyundai Kia Sold 2 mn Units In 2010

The integral segment of the Korean car maker, Hyundai Motor, Kia has set a new mark in its sale of car by notching 2 million units in the by gone year. Of late Hyundai Motor has been making a double digit growth in its products by enduing penetration into all markets. The sale of 2,089355 units comprised domestic market and export market sale of recreational vehicles (RVs) and commercial vehicles. This has accounted for an annual increase of 26.5% to be the first ever feat achieved by the new car in the automobile sector. The year-on-year sale figure stood at 447994 units making a rise of 47.1% from its previous year achievement. Its sale in China stood at 354944 units bringing an increase of 38.3% for the year-by-year sale, while it was 410150 units in North America making an increase by 18.5% for the year-on-year basis. In its homeland, the Hyundai Motors saw its sale to 484512 units making a growth of 17.4% for the year-on-year basis.

Among the vehicles sold by Kia in 2010, Creato of C-segment (also known as Forte in select markets) was the top winner in sale, with 403303 units. Whereas its Sportage compact CUV and Rio of B-segment fetched the sale of 2,07,922 units and 2,05,351 units respectively. The mid-size CUV, Sorento stood fourth with 174892 units and the urban crossover Soul was the fifth in the row with 135407 units. Hyundai Motor"s Senior Executive VP and COO said the sale increase has brought some good cheers to the company to grow further with confidence. The sale has been an all time good in its history with 2million vehicles in a calendar year. Though the global economy is on the slow recovery, he added, Hyundai Motor looks forward to maintain the same stint in this year too. For this Kia motors is enhancing its product range with new launches like the next generation Picanto A-segment and Rio in B-segment, he said further.
