Hyundai H800 To Take On Maruti Suzuki Alto's Might

Hyundai has not been able to make a huge dent in Maruti Suzuki's market share despite launching new models. The carmaker has now decided to focus on the rural market where it is yet to penetrate deeply. With the rural market still being price conscious the i10 small car could not make a huge impact.
The Hyundai H800 small car is reported to be powered by 800cc engine and will compete against the Maruti Suzuki Alto, Tata Nano as well as the soon to be launched Maruti 800. If Hyundai manages to price the H800 closer to the price of the Alto or even the new Maruti 800, it can be rest assured of having a segment leader in its hands.
There have been several sightings of the Hyundai H800. The company appears to have followed the fluidic design found in the new Verna in the small car too. With a slightly raked A and C pillar, the H800 has a look of being aero dynamic. Hyundai is looking to reduce the cost of production by using the platform of the Santro. This will mean the H800 will have sufficient interior space.
Expected to be unveiled by the end of 2011 or early next year, the Hyundai H800 will enter a keenly contest small car sector.
