Faulty Software Forces Recall Of Honda CRV, Accord

Honda CRV
Japanese carmaker Honda has recalled more than 25 lakh cars across the world to rectify a software glitch. The company in its statement sales there was an error in the software that could damage the automatic transmission. Among the cars that have been recalled are the Accord sedan and the CRV which are also sold in India.

A Majority of the recalled cars will be from the USA, followed by China and Canada. Honda has said the problem that lead to the recall was something that car users could not even notice. The recall was to prevent any possible damage and has stressed that there has been no reported accidents due to this software glitch.

Honda has said CRVs built between 2007 and 2010 and Accords powered by four-cylinder petrol engines built between 2005 and 2010 will be recalled. India does not seem to be within the ambit of this global recall as not many Accords and CRVs with automatic transmission are sold in India.

This is not the first time a Japanese carmaker has announced a massive recall. Toyota, once the world's largest carmaker recalled more than 10 million vehicles after several reports of accidents caused by faulty parts.
