Honda May Resume Its Production Only By May

The effect of the recent outbreak of earthquake and tsunami has made Honda Motor to put off the resumption of production till May. The news has been conveyed to the US dealers that Honda is not the only company to make such a move. Other players like Toyota, Suzuki and Nissan too have made up their mind to wait till normalcy is revived. Only then full production could be made, they feel.

The companies are facing the hindrance by way of shortfall in labor, parts and power supply. The US arm of Honda, Honda America has already distributed necessary memo in this regard. The company has asked for stock position regarding each dealer to settle the movements of vehicles till May. Yet, the company is going ahead with taking orders to deny such reports appearing in Wall Street Journal. Honda is serving the US market with its Fit compact, Civic and Insight hybrids, TSX wagon, Acura RL and Acura TSX.
