Honda Jazz Cheaper By A Whopping 1.75 Lakh

The Honda Jazz was always considered as a premium hatchback and was priced at least one lakh above its closest competition. With a starting price of about Rs.7.36 lakhs the Jazz was never a contender to be someone's first car. Honda had hoped its brand name would be sufficient to generate sales. However recent sales reports suggest the Honda was struggling to maintain the Jazz's sales.
The price cut of the Jazz was not unexpected as dealers themselves were offering huge discounts. What is shocking is the enormity of the price cut. With the discounted jazz costing about Rs.5.76 lakhs, it will definitely mean improved sales. Honda is currently offering discounts of up to Rs.80,000. The new discount means Honda has cut the price of the Jazz by Rs.95,000. One can only sympathise with buyers of the Jazz who bought the car before the discount.
The Jazz was appreciated for its features and well built interior and space. Its high price was the only deterrent that kept buyers away. Honda appears to have entered the low price hatch back sector much earlier than expected by reducing the price of the Jazz Hatchback. Honda was expected to launch the Brio hatchback but it was delayed due to the tsunami in Japan. Toyota launching the Etios Liva could be the reason behind Honda's Jazz price cut. Another reason could be the delay in the launch of the Brio.
Honda is yet tom make an official announcement of the Jazz's price cut. We will be updating any development on /.
