Preview Of Brio From Honda Postponed

The deadly eruption of continued earthquake and tsunami has affected many big car makers in Japan and Honda is one among them to put off the preview of its Brio small car. The preview was to have been made on 17th instant but the schedule has been postponed, said a company news. Honda has been in the Indian car market with its local ally Siel Group and the original plan was to arrange the preview of this Brio in India on March 17. Earlier Honda had exhibited this model in Bangkok in 2010 and at that time said the car would be marketed in India for Rs5 lakhs. Unfortunately the earthquake and the simultaneous tsunami which erupted last week has made a huge loss to lives and business in the country. Currently Japan is undergoing a tough phase fighting against the nuke radiation at Fukushima nuclear plant"s second reactor.

The explosion ended up costing the whereabouts of seven workers and injury to three workers. According to reports, the radiation in the second sector was measured at 500 micro sievert per hour and has forced the authorities to evacuate 1.80 lakh people living around the plant. In all nearly 3.5 lakh people have been evacuated from the site. Honda has issued its condolence to the affected in this disaster and extended its integrated efforts with the Japanese government. Honda"s move is akin to Toyota"s postponement of the dedication of its second facility in Bangaluru unit. The company which has its business dealings in India with Kirloskar has already invested Rs3200 crore for setting up a car facility for making Etios. However, the small car replica Liva 1.2 lit petrol engine will come off as scheduled, said the company sources. To ease the emotional upsurge out of this disaster, Kirloskar has made arrangements to safeguard its employees working in Japan.
