Honda Will Expand Its Company To Increase Sales!

Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI), the Indian arm of Japanese auto major Honda Motor Company is expanding sales network to Tier-II and Tier-III cities to increase sales of its small car, Brio which is scheduled to be launched in this festive season.

It is said that already the company has opened dealerships in Ambala, Mandi, Rohtak and Coonoor and in a year it is looking at adding another 25 outlets. Seki Inaba, HSCI"s marketing director said that Brio is important for the company as with it the company intends to widen the customer base. With this car, the company needs to target upcountry customers. Jnaneswar Sen, senior vice-president (sales & marketing), HSCI said that currently, about 50 per cent of our sales come from the top seven-eight cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad.

And the remaining sales come from 69 cities. Hence, the potential to increase sales from the rest of the country is huge. Inaba said that Honda products in all segments were priced slightly higher compared to its competitors. The company wants to remain distinctive in the products it offers. In the company"s portfolio, Brio which is likely to be priced around Rs 5 lakh would be the cheapest car. Also, the car which is to be manufactured at the company"s Greater Noida facility in Uttar Pradesh would have a localization content of up to 80 per cent.
