Ford Figo, Yamaha Honored By ET ZigWheels

Among the sensational array of cars in India, Figo from Ford wrested the Car of the Year from Economic Times ET ZigWheels Car and Bike awards. In addition, Ford clinched three more citations which include the ZigWheels.com Viewers Choice Car. In the two wheeler segment, Yamaha SZ-X was awarded the Bike of the Year and Hero Honda won the bike manufacturer of the year award for the second consecutive year. Yamaha posted four more feats including the viewers" choice bike of the year. Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India could manage to add fame by clinching three awards recognizing the technological adoptions and innovative productions.

The President and MD of Ford India dedicated the recognition to the valued customers and the company staff who were behind this feat. He told that so far Figo has reached nearly 60000 owners within 10 months of its launch. Incidentally Ford Figo stands out as one among the largest selling vehicles under Ford platform. Toyota Kirloskar whose reputation shoots with its Innova and Fortuner, won the best car manufacturer of the year award. BMW was honored with the Prestige luxury sedan award while the CBU prestige sedan of the year was Tata"s Jaguar XS. The best SUV of the year was Skoda and its ally Volkswagen have garnered five awards including the compact car of the year. The director of VW claimed that the award is the recognition for the company"s unstinted contribution to the industry by feeding the needs of the domestic customers.
