Ford's 1,00,000th Engine Gets Life After 14 Months

For Ford India, the potential of the Indian market is keenly precious by which the company delivered its 1,00,000th engine from its Chennai facility. The company created this feat after undergoing 14 months of intensive processing, from January 2010. The Chennai facility was the outcome of Ford"s erection at an investment of 0 million to yield the annual capacity of 2.5 lakh engines. The exclusive aspect of the manufacturing is the ability to meet the domestic demands as well as export markets.

The 1 lakhth unit is the byproduct of the Ford"s ability to explore multiple variants depending upon the product need for local and overseas market. The company"s President and MD for India said the world class manufacturing facility reinforced the dedication and commitment to counter the class products and powertrains of all sectors. It is learnt that Ford is on the path of achieving the next 1 lakh mile in a more quicker phase of time.

Ford can boast that its Chennai facility has the distinction to handle flexible production line- petrol and diesel engines. Currently there are five products such as Duratec petrol engine and Duratorq diesel engine for its own vehicles. The company"s export volume is one-third of the engines to countries like Thailand and South Africa.
