Fiesta Classic From Ford At Rs 5.58 Lakhs

The success run of its Fiesta mid-size sedan has made Ford India to launch a cheaper version of the vehicle Fiesta Classic at Rs 5.58 lakhs in India. Ford"s MD said the car represented the appropriate product in the mid-size segment and he made it clear that the new Fiesta classic will not compete with Global Fiesta to be rolled out in this year. He said the new Fiesta Classic comes in both petrol and diesel versions of 1.6 lit (Rs 5.58 lakhs) and 1.4 diesel version Rs 6.05 lakhs in three variants CLX1, SX1 and LX1. The Ford car has been in the market for the past five years and is rolled out from its Chennai facility which will soon go for the second shift to have the increased capacity of 1.5 lakh annual units.

The company"s Executive Director said the new Fiesta will bear almost all the salient features of the regular Fiesta as it is focused on boot lovers. The company"s growth, he said, during the last year was by 15% during March 2010 - March 2011. The export venture is to be spread to nearly 50 locations in this year, he added as Figo has already entered into the South Africa market. The notable nations for t his year are Mexico, Carribean and North Africa , he said. The company said the new Fiesta Classic is to be promoted as the brand product for the Indian market which has witnessed a growth of 31% on year basis.
