Chevrolet Beat Diesel Launched At Rs.4.29 Lakhs

The much awaited Chevrolet Beat diesel has been launched. The new diesel powered hatchback will be available with a starting price of Rs.4.29 lakhs. At a glittering ceremony in the Taj Lands End - Mumbai, General Motors India unveiled the Chevrolet Beat diesel.

The Chevrolet Beat diesel in General Motors India's first diesel powered hatchback. The Beat Diesel will be available in four variants with the entry level PS version costing Rs.4.29 lakhs. The LS, LT and LT ABS-alloy Wheels are priced at 4.59,4.99 and 5.45 lakhs respectively ( Ex-showroom price Delhi). The Chevrolet Beat diesel's price appears to be just right. But some customers could still expect it to be priced a little lower.

The highlight of the Beat diesel will be its fuel economy. It is powered by a one-litre engine that is capable of generating 62bhp and 160Nm of torque. Both the performance figures are the lowest in the sector. The Chevrolet Beat diesel offers a promising fuel economy of 24kmpl, just one kilometre less than that of the Tata Indica eV2, India's most fuel economic diesel hatchback.

As far as the performance of the Beat diesel on the road, this hatchback with its small size and smaller turning circle is a delight to drive on city roads. Chevrolet will offer its 'Chevrolet Promise' to the Beat diesel as well with a three year/100,000 kilometre engine warranty and a three year and 45,000 kilometre subsidized maintenance package.
