Fresh Details About The New Chevrolet Beat Diesel

There has been much talk about Chevrolet's diesel powered Beat. The small car from the American car brand has created quite a bit of interest. With the focus of the Indian consumer moving towards the higher fuel efficiency and improved running costs of a diesel powered car Chevrolet immediately announced that it would be launching a diesel Beat.

Chevrolet has finally confirmed the launch of the diesel Beat by launching its official website. The new Beat is powered by a Smartech engine that Chevrolet claims will deliver improved performance. The carmaker has also said the diesel Beat engine's noise, vibrations and harshness (NVH) was considerably lower and will provide a better driving experience.

The Beat Diesel is expected to be unveiled any day this month. The petrol powered Beat costs between Rs.3.9 lakh and Rs.5.2 lakhs. With the cost premium of the diesel engine the diesel Beat could cost anywhere between Rs.4.7 lakhs to 6 lakhs. It remains to be seen if the new Beat will able to make a dent in a market segment dominated by the Maruti Swift diesel.

The General Motors owned Chevrolet has promised that the diesel Beat will offer best in class fuel economy. There are rumours in the internet that it can offer a fuel economy of 24kmpl. This is the closest any car has got when compared with the Tata Indica eV2's claim of offering a mileage of 25kmpl.
