Honda Jazz
Indian carmakers are offering huge discounts and schemes to improve their sales performance. Following the drastic reduction in sales in June carmakers are being forced to offer more discounts or risk loosing market share. Even carmakers who enjoy huge market shares haven't been spared by the reduced sales. Best selling models of these carmakers are now cheaper due to the discounts.

Maruti Suzuki, India's leading carmaker has offered discounts of up to Rs.50,000 for its alto, Wagon R and Estillo. Maruti's chief general manager (marketing) Shashank Srivastava said: “We are just reacting to the market. Retail sales have taken a hit with a huge slump in customer's responses. To maintain our sales tempo, we have maximized the benefits on high selling models like Alto and WagonR in July as overall sales had turned negative in June."

Honda is one carmaker that has offered the highest discounts. The Japanese carmaker has already reduced the price of its City sedan by Rs.66,000. It is now providing further discounts of Rs.50,000 to the City. Now it has offered discounts of upto Rs.1.75 lakhs for its Jazz city car. The Honda Jazz was the Japanese carmaker's low selling car due to its high price. By reducing the price of the Jazz to match competitors from Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Toyota, Honda has taken the battle to the opposition.

India's second largest automobile manufacturer Hyundai Motor India Limited is also offering plenty of amazing schemes boost sales. The Korean brand is offering 5.99% interest rates on car loans for the Santro Xing and the i10 models. Both these cars are its best selling models. Hyundai has added further benefits of additional one year warranty, free insurance along with protection for further petrol price hikes. It is also offering discounts on all its petrol models.

Lowered interest rates for petrol powered cars are being offered by all carmakers. Volkswagen is offering loans at 6.99% interest rate on its Vento petrol sedan. Its German counterparts Mercedes-Benz and Audi are offering zero interest loans on C Class sedan and Audi A4 sedan.
