Hybric cars have been perceived to be eco friendly rides rather than something that can also be considered fun to drive. BMW intends to chenage this perception through its Vision EfficientDynamics concept. The BMW Vision EfficientDynamics concept is a result of the German carmaker's decision to build a car of the future that delivers excellent performance while being fuel efficient. The concept car is a plug-in diesel hybrid and features a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine along with electric motors. The batteries can be charged externally using anormal domestic power outlet. With a combined power out put of 356bhp and a whopping 800Nm of torque this BMW supercar is no slouch. It can accelerate to 100km/h in just 4.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 250km/h. BMW engineers have electronically limited the top speed of the supercar.

Its aerodynamic body has beed designed specifically to slip through air without much resistance. Performance is aided by technological features such as brake energy regeneration system which charges the batteries by collecting energy lost during braking. The BMW can run in fully electric mode for short distances and will switch to hybrid mode once power in the batteries comes down. The eco friendliness of the BMW supercar is supported by its emissions. It emits just 99 particles of Co2 per kilometre and and fuel economy of 26 kmpl.
