BMW, The No.1 Luxury Car Maker Of 2010

In the race of the superiority among the luxury car makers in India, BMW has pushed behind the giants like Audi and Mercedes-Benz in 2010. This could be achieved with sales of 6246 units in that year making a rise of 73% while holding 40% share in the segment which has the potential of 15000 annual units. For BMW India is the third potential market for its growth after China which has 80% growth rate. India and Korea has the equal level of growth possibilities, said BMW"s India President. He added that the company"s net sales volume in India stood at 4200 units in 2010, which proved to be an exceptional year and difficult to repeat in coming years.

For BMW 2010 is the second consecutive year for securing the top slot in luxury car segment, though he hinted that the growth rate in coming days may witness a fall. Yet BMW is receiving good number of orders which makes the company to hope to retain its supremacy. The position in the camps of Mercedes-Benz stood not inferior as it has fetched the sales volume of 5819 units in 2010 against its previous year. This made a growth of 80% thanks to the movements of its E-class model with 2490 units, C-class securing 2070 units and its SUV dragging 523 units.

For Mercedes 2010 proved to be the ever best in terms of its sale history in India. Whereas Audi"s sale figure stood at 3003 units in 2010 which too meant a growth of 81% from its previous year"s performance. The Director for Audi India said the company is proud to have achieved this feat which is the exceptional note for the third consecutive year of its presence in India. Based on this growth rate, Audi aims to secure a growth of 50% in 2011 making an aggressive product ranges and new launches which may include Audi 8 sedan and refined versions of A6 and A7.
