Q1 Of 2011 Promises Good Signs For BMW

The balanced proportion of performance and penetration of market has paid rich dividends for BMW. The company followed a good expansion spree for products and reaching the right segment of luxury car customers. The recent launch of 650i convertible BMW X1 has enabled the company to reach new peaks as it is no devising strategies to meet the demand. The company is now busy expanding its dealer networks, stretching its CKD activities and above all, the offer of Financial Services in the Indian car market. All these combined brought the company to the top slot in the luxury car segment by selling 2147 units during Q1 (Jan - March 2011). This number bettered the previous year"s by 50% when the sale was 1027 units.

The President of BMW India said the company felt proud to reach this hallmark, the first company to reach the 1000 mark, within a single month. He cited the competitive advantages which the company possessed- new products, superior customer service, strong and aspirational brand and first class premium dealerships. He said the company is well positioned in the coming years, by retaining the slot as the market leader in luxury car segment. He attributed the sale of BMW5 series in the success run in India and said it will continue to be the best selling model for the company in the luxury sedan sector. BMW had a good stint in 2010 too and is on the verge of taking over this feat to the coming days too. It said it is aiming for overtaking its own tally bettering the performance in 2010.
