BMW Will Launch New X3 On August 25
BMW India will be building the new X3 in its plant near Chennai by using CKD kits. This will ensure the X3 will be priced competitively against its competitors. With a starting price of Rs.41.2 lakhs the new X3 will be available in both petrol and diesel variants. While the petrol variant will be powered by a 2.5-litre six-cylinder engine capable of generating 210bhp and 246Nm of torque. Such power will ensure the BMW X3 will accelerate to 100kmpn within ten seconds and to a top speed of 210kmph.
The diesel powered X3 is powered by a two-litre turbo diesel engine that produces180bhp and 350Nm of torque. The diesel engine promises to be more fuel efficient. The diesel BMW X3 is also a powerful performer with a top speed of 200kmph and a zero to 100kmph sprint in less than 10 seconds.
The BMW X3 is equipped with a new ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox that ha been tuned to deliver improved fuel economy. The current model has a six-speed transmission. BMW has also worked on improving the ambience of the interior with a fresher design and high quality materials.
The new BMW X3 is very distinct from its predecessor in terms of exterior styling. With a bolder front and wider rear rack the X3 is following the style of its bigger sibling X5.
The BMW X3 for the first time also gets the third generation xDrive all wheel drive mechanism which will ensure the crossover will deliver top of the range performance and terrific handling. BMW, India's best selling luxury carmaker is keen to maintain its top spot and will soon launch updated versions of its models.
