The BMW 1-Series will introduce new levels of luxury in small cars once it is launched in India. The BMW 1-Series is available as a sedan, convertible as well as a hatchback and BMW has not confirmed which variants will be available in India.

BMW owns the iconic British car brand Mini. While the erstwhile Mini can be considered as the first small car, the latest Mini models churned out by BMW retain the classic design but are much larger. Powered by either a 1.4-litre petrol engine or a 1.4-litre diesel, the BMW Mini is no slouch. It is quick of the blocks and handles excellently. There are severar BMW Mini's on Indian roads that have been imported. So the German carmaker can be rest assured it will be able to sell the new Mini well

BMW is also the only luxury carmaker to follow the new CKD norms announced by the Government of India. Hence it has announced that it would not be hiking car prices. Other luxury carmakers such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Land Rover are most likely to increase prices.
