Bajaj To Launch An LCV In 2012!
The company's chairman Rahul Bajaj said that they will launch such a vehicle by 2012. And this would be a Bajaj vehicle that would be developed and marketed by the company. For entry level vehicle, it"s evolutionary for a two-wheeler manufacturer to go in and the company has expertise and experience to do so. The company did not reveal any marketing or price strategy for the vehicle. Further, Bajaj further said that the company's other pet project developing an entry level passenger car with French automobile major Renault was on track.
It would be an entry level vehicle and would be on the same platform as the commercial vehicle. Bajaj said that with existing low-cost cars, this will not enter into any price war. Also, there won't be any pricing competition, as products do exist in this segment. However, the quality and uniqueness of the car would be enough and it"s our expertise, Renault's technology.
