Audi Sales Double In May

Audi
Audi India, the Germany based luxury carmaker has reported its May sales figures. Audi India's sales has more than doubled during May 2011. The luxury carmaker sold 408 cars this may as against the 201 cars it sold in the corresponding period last year. Audi's sales during January to May this year was 2,394 units registering a massive 105 per cent growth.

Audi India chief Michael Perschke said: “We attribute our solid sales growth to our philosophy of thinking ahead of the curve and our ability to bring innovative and progressive products to India. This strong growth rate, even in times of rising fuel prices and interest rates, demonstrates the strong brand and product pull. The recently launched Audi A7 Sportback and Audi RS5 have received an overwhelming response from our customers across the country. The new Audi A6, which soon arrives on Indian roads, will further consolidate our position in the luxury limousine segment. I am confident that with the support of our dealer partners and our loyal customer base, 2011 will be a defining year for Audi in India."

Audi's sales have been boosted by the arrival of class leading models such as the R8 V10, R8 Spider, A8 L, A7 Sportback and the RS5 coupe. An aggressive sales and marketing strategy has also helped Audi's sales. Audi remains the market leader in luxury SUVs with its Q7 and Q5. Audi is aiming to expand its dealer network in India. The carmaker currently has 13 dealers in India.
