Anti Theft Car Detection Device

Car Security
One of the fascinating feature of the car industry is how expensive and complicated technology found in super luxury cars can be found in regular inexpensive cars within a few years. Air bags, LED headlights, key less start, leather seats are just some of the things that were earlier exclusive and now available in most cars. Another such technology which is becoming more and more affordable car security devices.

Car security devices not only help you in preventing a theft of your car, they also help you detect the location of the car accurately if it is stolen. Using the GPRS satellite technology we now have devices that can pinpoint the location of a car within seconds. Anti-theft devices that are slightly expensive also offer even better security features. Although they are currently available only in super luxury cars, it wont belong when they reach regular consumers.

One such anti-theft device uses homing signals used by internal transmitters. These signals can be tracked by various methods. This device can provide the car's location anywhere on the face of the earth. The transmitter can be detected as far as eight to ten kilometres. This device is currently costs as much as a lap top in the international market. It is yet to hit the Indian market due to restrictions posed by Indian wireless laws.

However some devices appear to have made an Indian entry, though inadvertently. We had earlier reported how some luxury cars that were stolen in the UK and Europe were being sold as new by dealers to unsuspecting Indian buyers. Some of these stolen vehicles were fitted with these anti-theft devices and the car's location was tracked down to India. Considering the fact that the luxury cars that were stolen were Aston Martins, Bentleys and even Rolls-Royces it is not surprising that they were fitted with the car security device.

In another twist to the story some of the luxury cars were actually abandoned on the streets of Delhi after media reports indicated that a particular car dealer was importing stolen cars. Although stealing cars is not turning out to be more difficult due to such devices, they do help car owners retrieve stolen cars. Further, they also help owners reduce insurance costs as insurers charge lesser premiums for cars fitted with better security devices.
