Ford Figo To Get Facelift : Unconfirmed Reports

Ford Figo
Ford Figo, the car that reversed Ford's fortunes in India, might get a new facelift according to reports. The facelifted Figo is expected to be displayed at the 2012 Auto Expo in Delhi. Ford India has not confirmed these reports. Reports say the Figo will get the face-lift only In 2014.

The Figo with its starting price of Rs.3.93 lakhs is by far the cheapest car sold by Ford. Available with both petrol and diesel engines the Figo also offers an exhilarating drive without compromising on running costs. The Figo's running costs are actually comparable with the Maruti Suzuki Swift.
The Figo continues to be a driver friendly car with its hydraulic steering and friendly handling.

If the Figo does get a facelift we wish Ford adds the one-litre EcoBoost engine to the hatchback. We are not entirely impressed by the current 1.2-litre Duratec petrol engine as we believe the Figo's chassis can handle much more power than the currently available 70bhp. Ford can also up the power from the diesel engine.

If Ford decides to make any changes to the design of the Figo, then it must first look in to the interiors. The plastics used in the cabin are not that great and Ford needs to improve them as and when it opts for a face lift to the Figo. Although the scheduled face-lift for the Figo is close to three years away, we do hope Ford also wants to improve its best selling model in India.
