Swift buyers Fear More Waiting Period On Facebook

The current strike and production halt at Maruti Suzuki's Manesar plant has generated new fears about the delivery of the new Swift among buyers. They are all expressing fears about a delay in deliveries due to the strike on the new Swift's Facebook fan page. The waiting period for the new model was pegged at four months for the diesel variant and about three months for the petrol variant.

While some are enquiring if the deliveries will be delayed by the strike some are worried about Maruti Suzuki's reputation taking a hit due to the strike. The Swift fan page which usually carries happy responses from new buyers and images from enthusiasts suddenly appears to have had a mood swing. Several users reported the strike at the Manesar plant and wondered if the carmaker could handle the crisis without delaying deliveries.

Here is what Ravi, a Facebook user had to say about the strike: “How long will I have to wait for New Swift becoz of this strike? does Maruti Suzuki care?"

One Facebook user has suggest that Maruti Suzuki must use more robots to build its cars and reduce their dependence on workers. He feels Maruti Suzuki's image has taken a beating because of the recent spate of strikes.

Maruti Suzuki has not shown any signs of relenting its decision to impose a good conduct bond on its workers in Manesar. It as already hired 200 temporary workers to resume production at a small scale.
