Skoda Set To Launch New Laura RS on Aug 31

The Skoda Laura has been a very successful model for the Czech carmaker. The Laura is the only mid-level premium sedan sold by Skoda. The Skoda Octavia RS (Rally Sport) was one car that was adored by car fans for its superb performance and handling. Following the end of the Octavia's production, there has been a gap for a performance sedan in Skoda's stables and the carmaker has decided to fill it with a new power packed Laura RS.

Skoda has already set the ball rolling for the Laura RS' launch. The new Laura RS will be unveiled on the 31st of August. The Laura RS is not new to Indian eyes. Skoda has already displayed the performance sedan in 2009 in Mumbai as well as in the 2010 Auto Expo in Delhi. The car displayed then was powered by a 1.8TSI engine capable of churning out a massive 160bhp.

Skoda is expecting the Laura RS will replace the Octavia RS as India's most loved performance sedan. The carmaker has already sent out mailers to its esteemed customers informing them about the new car's launch on August 31st. The Laura RS will also mark Skoda's 110 years in racing and its victory in the 2010 IRC championship.

The Laura RS is inspired by the Octavia RS. The new car is already sold as the Octavia RS in the international markets. The new car promises to deliver a more focussed and sporty performance. The manual gearbox has been tuned to stay on in high engine speeds in each gear to deliver an enthralling drive.
