Skoda Fabia Scout Set For 2012 Launch
The Fabia scout is a four wheel drive small car with higher ground clearance. The Scout is in essence a mini SUV as it can handle rough terrains easily. The Fabia Scout will be a car that will offer the space of a small car with the driveability of a SUV.
The Fabia Scout crossover has already been launched in Europe several years ago but Skoda India finally appears to have noticed its potential in the Indian market. If reports about the Skoda Fabia Scout's launch are to be believed, the new car will be launched in 2012. The Fabia Scout will be a compact car making it a cheaper option too.
There have been several sitings of the Fabia Scout in India. The Czech carmaker has already begun pre-launch tests and the crossover can be easily differentiated with the Fabia hatchback as the Scout has a sporty roof rail, dual tone bumpers and plastic mud guards. The over all look is that of an off-road vehicle.
The Fabia Scout is expected to get both petrol and diesel engines. These engines will be the tweaked versions of the ones found in the Fabia hatchback as the four wheel drive system will require additional amounts of power.
The Skoda Fabia Scout will be the perfect car for a small family that likes to travel across rough conditions. It can be considered as an alternative to the Skoda Yeti a premium SUV. If Skoda India does launch the Fabia Scout it will begin the rat race of small SUVs. Maruti Suzuki has also expressed interest in building a small SUV and so has Mahindra, Mahindra has already developed a compact SUV hat might see the light of day soon.
