Even Pope Can Be Sued For Breaking Traffic Rules

It appears even god, if not god's direct representative cannot escape if he is found to breaking this rule. The pope of the Roman Catholic Church, Benedict XVI has been sued in Germany by a German Citizen ans a lawyer for not wearing his seat belt repeatedly during his tour of Germany. The Pope had visited his home country and was traveling in his pope mobile during public engagements.
The lawyer who has sued the Pope has said the pope had completely disregarded traffic safety rules. He has presented several youtube videos of the pope traveling in his pope mobile across Germany as evidence. If the suit on the pope is accepted, he could face a fine of 30 to 1,500Euros. Even if the Pope is fined, he enjoys diplomatic immunity as he is the head of the state of the Vatican.
It took a Pope to escape from traffic rule violations In Germany. But the case in India might be very different. Several drivers who are caught breaking traffic rules escape by paying a bribe to traffic police. There have been some instances where traffic police are more interested in catching offenders and fleecing them of their money rather than control traffic.
Road users need to wear seat belts for their own safety. We need to follow traffic rules so that we enjoy a safe ride and also ensure the safety of other road users too.
