Study Reveals Women Struggle Even To Park A Car

There has been a long standing battle of sexes on the topic of driving. Men say they are better drivers as they can drive fast and can handle rough conditions. Women on the other hand say driving is not a gender specific activity and insist they are better drivers than men. Women are credited with taking the nuances of driving very well while driving for men is more instinctive.

Here is some news bad or good depending on which gender you belong to. A study has revealed that women struggle to park their cars more than men. According to this study, one third of women in the UK failed in their driving tests mostly due to their inefficiency in parallel parking.

Parking a car requires a proper sense of your environment and surroundings, the turning cycle of your car and the understanding of using the rear and side view mirrors. The study said women were not able to gauge the distance while reversing. Men on the other hand find parking relatively easy and not many were disqualified in the UK driving tests for parking.

To ascertain their results, the researchers asked 65 volunteers to parallel park an Audi and women took twenty seconds more to park than men.

Another study has revealed that women drivers tend to be involved in accidents more often despite driving lesser than men. Statistics from a study by the University of Michigan has revealed that women suffer accidents more often than men if we consider the equal duration of driving for both men and women. Women also tend to struggle with cross roads and T junctions.
